Phil Hall, Button-fix's Technical Manager, answers this question on site, while installing a sign panel.
Video commentary:
Hi, I'm Phil Hall, Technical Manager at Button-fix. People often ask us if we can use Button-fix externally.
Button-fix are designed and tested for internal use. However, they can be and often are used externally for smaller signage and panel applications, just not for cladding large multistorey buildings. For instance, here I'm mounting a small, 1m (40") long sign in 3mm (1/8") Dibond® aluminium composite.
I'm using duct tape to help mark out on the rough brickwork as this will help to show the indentations left by the points on the Button Marker tools. I mark a cross to help me keep the drill aligned, particularly on rough surfaces where the drill can wander. I'm using #10 x 1.5" (Ø5 x 40mm) stainless screws with Rawlplugs into the Buttons.
Quick and easy with no visible fixings!
