The push-on/pull-off engagement of the Type 3 Button-fix couldn't be simpler, and is ideal when there is no clearance around the panel.
But, unlike many push-fit connectors, it is strong and reliable too. Load tests show that Type 3 is suitable for all types of wall panel and for lightweight ceiling panels. It has also been tested for fatigue and at high temperatures and humidity, to ensure long-lasting durability.
It can be surface-mounted or semi-recessed (to reduce the installation depth) and its installation depth matches the Type 1 Button-fix, allowing the two fasteners to be used to hang adjacent panels. Type 3 also uses the same Button Marker accessory as the Type 1 family, to help make installation quick and accurate.

Many applications of Type 3 are the same as the versatile Type 1 Button-fix, but where a push-on/pull-off engagement is required. Type 3 Button-fix is ideal for:

Wall panel with 4 x Fixes, guide load = 60 kg max.
Ceiling panel with 4 x Fixes, guide load = 10 kg max.
- Advice on panel loads is given with the proviso that the screws and substrate are properly matched, and all other instructions complied with. For critical applications it is essential to perform your own tests.
- The guide load for using Type 3 on ceiling panels should be applied to any panel that is not vertical and its weight acts to disengage the Button-fix.
Full documentation for the product can be downloaded in this section, including detailed instructions for use (in multiple languages), a declaration of performance certificate, independent load test reports and safety warnings. You can also download CAD models of the fastener below.

The Type 1 Button-fix connects parallel panels where the emphasis is on strength, and is recommended when the panels are carrying cantilevered loads such as shelving.
For hanging thin materials such as solid grade laminate, solid surface (Corian®, Hanex®, etc.), glass, metal or stone, Type 1 Bonded Button-fix is the best solution.
When constructing furniture, cladding reception desks or adding sides to kitchen cabinets, and panel-to-panel contact is required, Type 1 Flush is the recommended Button-fix.
Whether it is in transport environments, subject to vibration and shock loads, or for fire-rated ceiling panels, the Type 1 Metal Button-fix is the high-performance choice.
Its 90° connection and straight push-on engagement make the Type 2 Button-fix the recommended choice for access panels and boxing-in services.
Like the original Type 2, they connect panels at 90° or to a frame. But their more compact installation depth allows the Button to be fitted to the edge of an aperture in an 18mm (3/4”) panel – ideal for a service access window.
