Its 90° connection and straight push-on engagement make the Type 2 Button-fix the recommended choice for access panels and boxing-in services.
With the Fix Marker accessory, it is quick and easy to install with no need for a tape measure.
The blue Button attaches to the side of a cabinet carcass or a timber stud frame, and the Fix bracket to the back of the removable panel. Type 2 is ideal for any application where access is occasionally required to concealed plumbing or electrics, or for servicing built-in appliances. No clearance is required above or at the side of the removable panel, and the tapered Button is specially designed to guide the Fix into the correct alignment.

When service access to plumbing or electrical wiring is a priority, Button-fix Type 2 is an ideal choice.
Typical uses include:

Wall panel with 4 x Fixes, guide load = 60 kg max.
Never use Type 2 on ceiling panels.
- Advice on panel loads is given with the proviso that the screws and substrate are properly matched, and all other instructions complied with. For critical applications it is essential to perform your own tests.
- Disengagement force for a single Type 2 Fix is approximately 7 kg

The Type 1 Button-fix connects parallel panels where the emphasis is on strength, and is recommended when the panels are carrying cantilevered loads such as shelving.
For hanging thin materials such as solid grade laminate, solid surface (Corian®, Hanex®, etc.), glass, metal or stone, Type 1 Bonded Button-fix is the best solution.
When constructing furniture, cladding reception desks or adding sides to kitchen cabinets, and panel-to-panel contact is required, Type 1 Flush is the recommended Button-fix.
Whether it is in transport environments, subject to vibration and shock loads, or for fire-rated ceiling panels, the Type 1 Metal Button-fix is the high-performance choice.
Like the original Type 2, they connect panels at 90° or to a frame. But their more compact installation depth allows the Button to be fitted to the edge of an aperture in an 18mm (3/4”) panel – ideal for a service access window.
The push-on/pull-off engagement of the Type 3 Button-fix couldn't be simpler, and is ideal when there is no clearance around the panel.
