Why use

Type 2

?

Its 90° connection and straight push-on engagement make the Type 2 Button-fix the recommended choice for access panels and boxing-in services.

With the Fix Marker accessory, it is quick and easy to install with no need for a tape measure.

The blue Button attaches to the side of a cabinet carcass or a timber stud frame, and the Fix bracket to the back of the removable panel. Type 2 is ideal for any application where access is occasionally required to concealed plumbing or electrics, or for servicing built-in appliances. No clearance is required above or at the side of the removable panel, and the tapered Button is specially designed to guide the Fix into the correct alignment.

Buttons

Blue Button for Type 2

Blue Button for Type 2

The blue Button makes alignment of the Type 2 assembly easy, thanks to its large lead-in flange. It also has a unique screw-retaining feature, to hold the screw during assembly. Use with Ø5mm CSK wood screws, M5 machine screws or Ø6.2mm Varianta Euro screws.

Accessories

Fix Marker accessory for Type 2

Fix Marker for Type 2

The Fix Marker for Type 2 helps to quickly and accurately align the Type 2 Button-fix installation, reducing the need for measuring and marking out. The marker points will leave indents on the surface of the removable panel, which can be used as pilot guides for the Fixes.

Safety Cord for Type 2

The Safety Cord should be used in all applications of Type 2 Button-fix where extra safety is required. On a vertical panel install two Safety Cords, one to each Fix in the top corners. An additional Button is required to capture the loop on the Safety Cord.

More fasteners

The Type 1 Button-fix connects parallel panels where the emphasis is on strength, and is recommended when the panels are carrying cantilevered loads such as shelving.

  1. Connects panels face-to-face with a 3mm or 8mm gap
  2. Drop down or sideways engagement
  3. Ideal for acoustic, wall and ceiling panels

For hanging thin materials such as solid grade laminate, solid surface (Corian®, Hanex®, etc.), glass, metal or stone, Type 1 Bonded Button-fix is the best solution.

  1. For bonding to panels of any thickness
  2. Drop down or sideways engagement
  3. Ideal for signage and exhibition displays

When constructing furniture, cladding reception desks or adding sides to kitchen cabinets, and panel-to-panel contact is required, Type 1 Flush is the recommended Button-fix.

  1. Connects panels face-to-face with no gap
  2. Drop down or sideways engagement
  3. Ideal for furniture assembly

Whether it is in transport environments, subject to vibration and shock loads, or for fire-rated ceiling panels, the Type 1 Metal Button-fix is the high-performance choice.

  1. For use on fire-retardant panels
  2. Drop down or sideways engagement
  3. Ideal for marine and other transport interiors

Like the original Type 2, they connect panels at 90° or to a frame. But their more compact installation depth allows the Button to be fitted to the edge of an aperture in an 18mm (3/4”) panel – ideal for a service access window.

  1. Smaller installation depth than Type 2
  2. Option of push-on or drop-down assembly
  3. Ideal for washroom services ducts

The push-on/pull-off engagement of the Type 3 Button-fix couldn't be simpler, and is ideal when there is no clearance around the panel.

  1. Connects panels face-to-face with a 3mm or 8mm gap
  2. Strong push on/pull off engagement
  3. Ideal for acoustic, wall and ceiling panels
